In order to reduce my ecological footprint to one planet less then what it is now, I know that there are some requirements.I can use a better choice of transportation by using a bike or walking. I can also add energy saving features to my home like installing a water heater and low mercury light bulbs that are florescent.I can wash my clothes in cold water instead of warm or even dry the clothes old fashion by a close line.I can eat more organic foods and try to eat no meat or less meat and more vegetables and choose foods with not allot of packaging to not have so much garbage.I can also install a solar heater for the house or building.Thinking about these changes makes me think that if i actually do all of these things, i will be helping the environment but i will also have benefits coming to myself and my family. i will be not only saving energy by turning off the lights and unplugging appliances when not in use and but i will save my bill price on light and gas if i do this.

My current ecological footprint is 3.93 earths. This means that if everyone on the earth would live the same way as me, it would take up to 3.93 earths to fulfill everyone's needs.

My ecological footprint number makes a difference to the earth.I eat foods that are not always organic,i don't always recycle, and i use public transportation everyday to get to school. Those are some of the things that i am doing that can improve. The things i find that i am doing right is me and my family in the house don't waste too much water in the shower, but that could also be improved in order to conserve more water by taking shorter showers and not letting the water run while we brush our teeth in the mornings. The things that i am doing good personally is that hardly eat meat,i save allot of energy me and my family because we turn off all appliances in our house when not in use,our electricity as well. My lifestyle wouldn't change too drastically if i was to reduce my ecological footprint to 1 planet. In order to do this though, i would have to become a vegetarian, eat only greens, probably use allot of solar heated stuff, insulations, take shorter showers, reduce our garbage and use more of our garbage for compost. Other things i can do to reduce my ecological footprint to 1 planet is to recycle ALL of my glass, plastic, metal, and electronics,by only organic stuff like food or house cleaners instead of chemicals.

Why i don't celebrate Christmas...

I brandy Fantauzzi am one of Jehovah's Witnesses.I know that many people should already know this by now because i tell everyone where i stand as one, but let me tell you why i don't celebrate it.We as Jehovah's witnesses are students of the bible,Christians,so we try our best to follow everything it says in the bible and this is what we live by and we do our best to follow Jesus' example. In the bible, since the day of Christmas is supposedly Jesus birth-date ,and although the bible doesn't state exactly when Jesus was born, an account of the bible states that when Jesus was born, Shepherds were living out of doors as it mentions in Luke 2:8 and taking care of their animals and flocks in the nightime. So, the kind of weather we can tell from this scripture that Jesus was born closely to a time in October and shepherds in that season would bring their sheep inside protected shelters in the nighttime. The coldest weather, with snow happened in December. This is just one example of why we don't celebrate Christmas. We also look behind the facts and history of the man made events of Christmas, whats behind the custom, and although i don't have time to explain them all, you can look at this page to find out more about it and other things we do and do not do.
